Is CFS2 still being played by a vast majority of pilots? I bought it in 2001 and of course it ran just perfect. Then I moved up to W7 in 2010, my machine would run it (HP 3 GHZ NVIDIA Card) like a GE5 something) the graphic were bad everything was squares on the ground.

Then I got another HP 3 GHZ machine in 2016 I did not attempt to run CFS2 because I thought it would do the same as my 2010 HP. So last night I decided to try it to my surprise it ran very very smooth the difference was I had a much faster graphics card GE9 something but it made CFS2 run clear and bright. I thought I would have to go back to XP but no it runs like a champ! I think the graphics card may have made a difference But! CFS2 is an old game now for me it is a new game.

Casey: CFS2 runs great on Win7. Any modern graphics card will support it well. Open the main folder and right click on the CFS2.exe and choose "properties." Click on the "compatibility tab and select "Windows XP." Save and close. CFS2 will run best on that setting. Then open your "Control Panel." Open "User Accounts" and then "Change User Accounts Settings." Move the slider down to zero or "never modify."

All of that should have you ready to go. If you have squares in your terrain, open the Scenedb folder, go to the World folder and copy all the textures. Paste them into your main Textures folder. You can also search the entire game folder for "filelist.dat" files and delete them all. They will regenerate, fresh the next time you start the game.

Any update on your progress? How are you doing?
 
It Runs very well, But I will be cautious I don't want to go crazy and start overloading CFS2
with my hundreds of add-ons which I have put on CDs. So I test each plane and test one
mission at a time until everything runs smooth with them.

You can alleviate the problem with having a large amount of downloads by creating multiple installs of CFS2. It's simple, just rename the folder of your current install and make a shortcut of it's CFS2,exe file. Then install the game again. Repeat as necessary ie: a separate install for early European theatre, late European theatre, early and late Mediterranean theatres, Korea etc.
