Sorry not pics yet, but a few days ago I finally was able to pick up my dream car! (Sorry not a Porsche 911) A Brand New 2010 Honda Fit/Jazz Sport! I've wanted one ever since they hit the US market. I've been driving my families old mini van ever since my Senior year in High School. Last year I spent $3000 on it just to get it road worthy! (timing belt, new starter, new rear brake line, 3 fuel pumps, new water pump and hoses, spark plugs and lines ect...) Even after all of that though at times that van down right terrified me to drive. It was old and stuff was continuing to go wrong with it. So I finally took a dive and got a Fit! The 'buying new car experience' was anything but nice warm and fuzzy, but at the end of the day I feel I got the car I wanted at a fair price, I paid over half of it off up front and I took a loan out of the other half to help build credit. The payment is reasonable as is the interest rate. But I love this car! It won't do burn outs (you can't expect much from a 117hp four banger), but the handling it has is just stupendous! And the visibility out the front is truly commanding! I find my self not having to turn my head as much as I did in the van to clear area around me! Already that's gotten me in to slight trouble, and gave me a good personal scare, but no tickets, scratched paint or horror stories to tell! About the only gripe I have it is that the tire pressure monitoring system light on the dash won't go out. I've checked the pressure in all tires, and they are all fine, so I'm guessing its an error in the system. Just will have to take it back in tot he dealer to have them fix it. But besides that, its perfect Fit for me.... get it... :)

Congrats on the new car!

May it last you a long time of great fun and driving.

Honda make some incredible cars these days.

Congrats on the new car but.... Way too small for me. Probably from being a firefighter and EMT for so long. I like a car with a little crunch room.

I do like the side curtain air bags in the clip. if not for those, it might not be as pretty for the dummy. Even if you weren't hurt in a crash like that, the Fire Department would still have to cut you out because none of the doors look like they would open after that.

Yer gonna love it. :wiggle:

I got the first 2007 Fit sold in Danville in June 2006. Still driving it and loving it. Never a moment's problem. Next year I will have to let it go to my oldest son for college. But I plan on getting me another one. I have never seem a small car with so much utility. And it is unreal fun to drive, especially if you get the Fit Sport (by all means I recommend this over the base model). The steering wheel shifters for the automatic are the bee's knees.

If I have one complaint, it is that the Dunlop tires that come standard, though excellent in the dry, will hydroplane on heavy wet roads. On my second set of tires, I had to opt for some all-weather tires and give up a little of my cornering performance.

I just test drove one of the new Ford Fiestas last week. The only two advantages of it over the Fit are the better fuel economy and the added materials to make it quieter inside. The six-speed automatic soes not come with a manual shift option either, what was Ford thinking? The seats do not have the same utility as the Fit's, will not lie flat when folded and have nowhere near the storage capacity of the Fit.

Between the two, I'll take a Fit any day. might cost a few more dinero, but with the reliability of the Fit being rated one of the best in the world (it is the best selling car in Japan, that alone speaks for itself), you sir are making a very good choice.

Other complaints do not involve the car, but the high cost of maintenance the dealers charge for routine maintenance. Find a good mechanic and have them do routine maintenance, the warranty will still be in force. On my 15,000 mile service the bill was $346.00. It was then that I tiold the Honda dealership that this was far and above the norm and they would never see me again for routine maintenance. I consider that highway robbery. Just a word of warning about dealer service, it may not be as bad where you are.

Happy Driving!

Nice choice, roomy though "small", nice revy engines.

I never really had a hang on those MPVs until I stumbled upon my own last year. Interior space and propper driving characteristics as well as being practical and still small enough for city parking spaces can really make your day!

Regards
Alex

PS: It´s the overdose on electronics that sometimes sucks on new cars, getting that tire pressure monitoring system repaired should be part of the waranty!

Never been in a fit (seem too small for ,e) but, my wife owns a 2009 CRV and she just LOVEs it. Traded in her Toyota Camry in on the Honda. Great cars.

Glad you like it,I am driving the smallest car I will have,a 94 Explorer.I know this is sacrilege but you don't need to build your credit, buy with cash and buy what you can afford to pay for...thus no need for credit.I haven't borrowed from a bank in over 15 years.

And thus I ain't broke all the time.:d

Well I will admit I had the funds to pay for the car out right, but then I would have blown away my CFII (certified flight Instructor Instrument) flying funds, and some funds I was saving for a trip later this summer, and I just did not want to do that. So hence the loan from the Credit Union. And I know the Fit is a small car and getting hit would not be fun, (like I said just about scared myself a few days ago, by pulling a stupid driving move when no one else besides was around me. My Guardian Angel was there and looked out for me!), but the Fit has the best safety record of anything else in it's class.

I think its a great looking little car.

For those that do not like small cars, its much safer then a motorcycle. Thats how I look at it. I remember the old yellow Honda CVCC's, (Civics). What awesome little cars. They were like a Japanese version of an Austin Mini. Man, could they handle.
