I've never built a pc before, but I think I'm ready. Right now I am only in the planning stage, but I'd like some help on choosing the right components. I really need some input on a PSU, Motherboard, Processor. I'm not looking for the most outrageous components out there, I just want something High quality that will last. My plan is to get a case, PSU and HD's first, then accumulate some more funds(and hopefully let the price of the i7 go down) and get the rest of the stuff.

Also if anyone has some good tutorials on building, could you post a link? I've been watching TigerDirect's tutorials, and they're helpful they just haven't hit every base yet. http://www.youtube.com/user/tigerdirectblog?ob=4

What's your budget? :)

I have $600 set aside right now, but barring extenuating circumstances, I should be getting a lot of hours over the upcoming holiday. In the end, I'd be willing to put $1000-$1200 total into it.

Edit: I already have a monitor, speakers etc...

Depends on whether or not you'll be running 2 or more GFX cards, multiple Hard drives, a few Optical drives...lots of cooling/case fans. A good quality Brand name PSU (eg Thermaltake,Enermax,PC Power & Cooling etc) of ~600/700 watts should suffice for a single card setup......or more if you want to avoid upgrading down the line. :)
