I still can't get over feeling how much more real FS2004 is than FSX.

It's just something missing in FSX. The textures are beautiful, but still false and too bright on any given day regardless of weather conditions. The default clouds are out of this world.

But I have no idea where I am, I am in a fantasy world, on an acid trip you might say! :d

In FS2004, I know exactly where I am. My home is even in FS2004. All of the small landing fields around me are enhanced with hangers (if seen in Google Earth). Since we got higher resolution for my area now, I have been having a ton of fun with the old LAGO FSEnhancer. :d

It would be nice to having the moving traffic, that's a plaus to FSX, but I just cannot get over how much more it feels and looks like I am actually flying in FS2004.

Now I know why I don't feel as lonely in FS2004 too. :medals:

Caz, I have been flying FSX exclusively for the last 2 weeks, and I like it. I re-installed FS9 today, and I like it...They each have advantages and disadvantages. Kinda like my kids and grandkids. I love them all, but they each have their little quirks and personalities...As we all know, there are some aircraft that will work only in FS9, and some that will work only in FSX. Which sim I use will largely be determined by the aircraft I want to fly....:ernae:

Welll, it depends..
Some things are better in FSX, but default scenery is just awful.
On the other hand, there are things like FTX if you like flying in Australia, and then you think, why did I like FS9?....
Today, I got FS9 working again, and I like the skies, but the aircraft look really bland without bumpmaps etc..

Jan, I have UTX - USA and GEX - USA. The roads are more muted because of the choice from asphalt, as most are in my area. I have looked at ORBX (is that right?). I like the textures very much and don't see why they would not adapt here. Certainly better than the default and a darn shade better than GEX IMHO.

Everything ism off, even with the add-ons, landclass, texture colors, seasonal colors. FSX just cannot cut the mustard with FS2004 on landclass and positioning of items of interest.

FSX grows on you, especially in the Alps. :d As I said, the cloud animation and appearance are out of this world nice.

Pointy, that's Piglet's Storch, available at FlightSim. the Pelican texture is Piglet's too, it's already in the main download's aircraft.cfg as are two other textures that Piglet has in a separate download there too.

FS2002/FS2004 Fieseler Fi-156C Storch. The Fi-156 Storch (stork) was one of the few Luftwaffe planes to be better than any Allied counterpart. Going and living anywhere the German army went, the Storch proved up to any task put before it, whether observation, rescue, liaison, or recon. This Storch is fitted out as it might appear on the warbird airshow circuit. Comes with seven textures. Model also has full FS ani's, VC, panel, lights and some custom gauges. Needs FI156TEX.ZIP for three of the textures. By Tim Conrad, Piglet's Peculiar Planes. (See also 156_FIX.ZIP)

In the main Storch link here, get the 2-D and VC panels along with the 1928-1938 German gauge package. Also, if you still have Guenter Kraemer's Me-108B-1, go over and copy the sound file and paste it into the Storch's Folder and overwrite the existing sound file.

Think we're on the same page...but don't you think we're just a tad lazy, too?
Whenever I see an AFCAD uploaded for some or other place in FSX, I go: "Oh puhlease, not that all over again!"
I reckon FSX stuff has a shrink-wrapped look, and so don't like it. But maybe I'm just used to the FS9 look, and so do like it.
And so on...
FS9 will stay on and on because there's so much in it, and even now, so much being developed for it.
Thinking about it, I probably haven't even gotten to 3/4 of the nice stuff available.
But I've stopped bagging the other sims, because I know staying in FS9 is probably just laziness on my part. :mixedsmi:
Gotta go download that Carenado C152...

This is one reason why i reinstalled FS9. Now I have Fs9 on its own drive and FSX on another. For some reason my US home in Green Bay looks real in FSX but my other home in Cuba Looks better and more accurate in FS9. I also miss my Fs9 helos and russian Il-76. So now i can enjoy both sim worlds equal and try to improve FSX Cuba useing Fs9 cuba as an example with the same for green bay in reverse.

Oshkosh...probably as close as I'll ever get...:costumes:
