I Used to Know The Answer

I have the CN_Firefly Mk 1 that I am using for some of the BPF missions.

All of a sudden as soon as the mission starts, no matter whether I am on the flight deck waiting to take off, or in the air with an air start, the plane goes into a death spiral fully engulfed in flames.

How do I correct this? :banghead:

UT,
Okay switched them all out.

I am using your skins with aircraft #275, #277, #281.
From the information you gave me on BPF, at the time of these missions only Fireflies from 1772 Squadron on HMS Indefatigable were in operation.
But that is only if I want to be anal retentive in my historical accuracy.

I don't think anyone is going to complain about the aircraft being from 1770 and 1771 instead of 1772....:very_drunk:

Oldwheat - you know me too well!! :monkies:

1772 sqn was so short-lived, there aren't many photos of their aircraft around, & most that do exist are from their time in the ETO.

I've also seen reference to Indefatigable's Fireflies being 1771 sqn aircraft, plus 1 flight of 1772 sqn (maybe just aircrew) during the final raids over Japan, so any tail code letter/ aircraft number seems possible.

However, if I come across anything, like a viable serial number, I could extrapolate from there & it'll be "close enough for jazz".:kilroy:

I did manage to find this photo.

The caption on the website says it is a firefly from HMS Indefatigable.
BUT, I would have expected an "S" on the tail, not a "K".

HMS Indefatigable aircraft were supposed to be marked with an "S".

Also, I have seen information stating HMS Indefatigable had 9 Fireflies and that she had 12 Fireflies.
I have seen information stating 1770 Squadron and 1772 Squadron.

Lot's of conflicting information from that time period, especially from the USN.
