I am simply stunned at the sheer scope and depth of this CFS3 conversion. I enlisted with the 94th Aero Squadron and after a few practice runs with quick combat embarked on my career.
I find myself looking around most of the flights just taking it all in. I turned the labels on briefly and saw that Ace Eddie Rickenbacker had taken off behind me and was leading his own flight some where. I stuck to my flight leader like glue. I noticed a ground battle going on as we neared the front lines. The sounds and sights really made for atmospheric first flight. We did not run into the enemy that first time and did not see any of the Boche crates until my 5th or 6th flight on the 3rd or 4th day (I'm forgetting which now as I post).
Well on this last flight I got what I was wishing for and ran into (or should I say ultimately ran away from) 5 Albatros DV and a flight of recon two seaters that I just could not seem to catch. After twisting and turning , diving and praying I managed to make it back to my airbase in one piece. I was very pleasantly surprised to be informed that I had flown 17.5 hrs of combat and had outlived the average pilot who only averages a life span of about 17 hours (talk about cool facts to find out as you log on to your campaign).
I have not had the pleasure of filling out a combat report yet (but I will soon) and I absolutely love that the Aces are there with me and their kills actually match whatever they had scored up to the actual date I am flying in.
Amazing WW1 game, there really is no need for anything else.
