I wish I had a camera

Last night I was flying a D.VII as flight lead for five other D.VIIs from Jasta 11. We were at high altitude, about 9,000 ft in a "Line Astern" formation when a group of four SPAD XIIIs flew under us in almost the opposite direction. I selected the enemy leader and pressed the "A" button. Just for grins, I panned backward to look at my men and write down their names (thank you Patch 1.2!) prior to the engagement. And lo and behold, one by one, all five of them from front to back each winged over, reversed direction, headed downward and conducted a diving pass onto the SPADs before the fight devolved into a huge flying furball. It was beautiful. Just like you see in the movies. And me without a camera or FRAPS running.

I think that's the first time I've ever had my wingmen obey me. And in such a beautiful and realistic manner. I'm going to have to see if I can duplicate that sometime. It would have made for an impressive clip for Youtube.

Edit: I'm not sure I described the maneuver correctly, this is about what it would have looked like:

This is the exact reason, why I bought "fraps" on saturday! Go, get it, if you dont own it already. It`s worth the money, and you can show the world your flying skills.

Haha! - I know that! You don't have FRAPS running every time, do you? And then, you have scenes to happen you really would like to show.

I lead an attack on BE2c's yesterday. They were higher up, and I ordered attack, just to watch, how they would do it.
And, happily, they climbed up quickly (I found it hard to follow!), a bit higher than them 2seats, and then, one after the other performed a curved dive on a plane, firing. They shot 2 of them up so quickly, that I had to order "return" - I wanted my chance, too (Lol!)
Beautiful to watch - I felt not alone up there. I had wingmen!
