I would like to Replace a Carrier For Another

I have a number of carriers and I would like to install them so I can
fly off them and land, I was not clear in my other post I apologize.
For example I would like to install the USS Hornet to land and fly
off.

Cheers\

Once you have you ships installed into the ship folder you will have to use mission builder to make a mission that uses them.

Should should be able to edit the stock Carrier Takeoff mission to use any carrier than save it with a new name.

In other words: Open the desired mission using Mission Builder. Highlight the carrier in question with your cursor. Use the dropdown menu on the left to chose that carrier you want to substitute for the old one, double check it's nationality and assign it's name. Repeat the process with any other ships you want. Important: be sure the airplane icon of the player aircraft is physically on the "new" carrier and it is set in tasks to "take off". Save the mission and close out Mission Builder. Fly off the new carrier as desired.

There's an easier way to bypass Mission Builder if you just want a simple mission to do touch-n-go's, T/O and landings on your fav carriers. Go to the LESSONS \ USA sub-folder and copy tm010_usn.mis to your MISSIONS folder. Rename it as the name of the new carrier you want to use, like "Uss Bunker Hill.mis" for example. This is the default carrier landing lesson in the training module.

Open the file with notepad or whatever editor you use and scroll down to this section:

[unit_type.0]
type_id=3814
unit_family=1
name=F4F4_Wildcat

[unit_type.1]
type_id=6004
unit_family=7
name=SHA_ENTERPRISE_CV-6

[strings]
"title_string"=Training 10 - Carrier Approach and Landing
"summary_string"=<empty>
"objective_string"=<empty>
"intelligence_string"=<empty>
"player_aircraft_name_string"=F4F-4 Wildcat
"name_string.0"=Bulldog
"name_string.1"=Enterprise

Change the "name=SHA_ENTERPRISE_CV-6" to the FOLDER NAME of your desired carrier.

At the bottom line, change the "name_string.1"=Enterprise" name to the new carrier's shortname.

Do the same for Japanese carriers.

Save and fly...

You can also change the default aircraft in here as well, but that's not necessary since the aircraft selection dialog allows you to choose whatever aircraft you want to use before loading a mission.

That's how I did it Bearcat. I must have 10 carrier missions now, all evolved from the stock mission.
