Icarus Rapide getting close to release

This looks great but have people forgotten about the free Rapide that is made for FSX? I'm not knocking your product my friend, looks great. :ernae:

Hhmmnn -why do devlopers continually do this -there is a great freeware fs9 and FSX model by Dave Garwood which will take some beating- why not do a design that hasn't been done? - their are plenty of Dehavilland designs not yet done i.e. a nice Fox Moth would be great.

Ahh - now your talking - I have fond memories of helping out with a Fox Moth doing pleasure flights at Bournemouth Airport when i was a teenager :jump:

There is a nice Rapide out already but!!! Having recently purchased their Gladiator I am now an official fan. I will definitely get this new plane and the Duck as well. Heck probably all their currently planned aircraft as they all appeal to me. Can't wait! With a bit of luck I'll get to see a real one fly this year as well! :D

Ah yes - or a DH60 Moth, or Puss Moth, or Jackaroo, or Leopard Moth, or Hornet Moth.....lovely. The DG Rapide is a beauty, although I don't doubt Icarus will improve on the VC a bit. Enough to make me buy it? Doubtful, really.:rapture:

The usual problem for a designer is trying to find decent 3 views and other "building data" for some of the more exotic vehicles. For example, I can find ample data on the web for the Rapide, but practically zilch for the Fox Moth. Even more problematic is finding cockpit views for some of the lesser known vehicles.

There might already be a free one, but we've not seen the Icarus one yet..

Freedom of choice is great, imo. Icarus are no more obliged to make something other than a Rapide than any other developer.

Eagerly anticipating shots, anyway. :wiggle:

infact we are releasing also the de havilland dh-4....also usually we made only rare planes or never maked as the gamma and gladiator in the fsx version...we build what we like and we liked the idea to build a native sdk version....also you will not believe but some models with many freeware versiosn sell more than others(but this is not the main reason)...we build also only native sdk versions that has very good fps performance also inside cockpit as reported many times here. About 3views on last months after my hospital problems i have builded a larga database of very good 3views so we can build many new models on future and yes we are planning also a tiger moth as a tempest and i would like to build also a mess 323 gigant. on our website there is a poll about which aircraft people would like to see nextly ...mostly are at 90%

we will release also the military usa version with radio and the spanish civil war version with bombs and they doesnt exist free or payware, so it's native sdk and with two never builded version, bytheway i will upload some screenshots this week. Probably i will make also some missions.

I will definitely get this new plane and the Duck as well

the jf2 duck external model it's ok also with a gunner version...building virtual cockpit now.

Nice!

I am excited to see this plane completed. I have the freeware Rapide, and I enjoy flying it, the aircraft is nicely done, but as with all other aircraft that have models of Humans in the plane, they creep me out. I prefer to fly planes without the passenger models whenever possible.

When I fly the freeware Rapide, I have to keep my eyes forward at all times, lest I catch a glimpse of the soulless Zombies that have come along for the ride. I'm pretty sure they want to eat my brain...

And BTW, that's not to say that the freeware Rapide is unique in it's zombie passenger quailty. All models of passengers look like zombies. FSX just isn't meant to render realistic people.

I'll be excited to take this one for a spin - provided it's at least an option to leave the corpses on the ground. I love the Icarus Gamma I have!

If you don't want passengers in my Rapide, just edit the payload weights to zero (either in the FSX payload editor, or by editing the aircraft.cfg direct) and they will disappear.

i am working fast to release soon finishing last skins and test, gera

Awesome work Icarus!

That baby looks great. The VC is amazing.

Its good to see a Grumman Duck! My dad and I fell in love with those things watching the movie 'Murphies War'. I had the blessing of being able to see the Duck at the air museum (movie planes) in Orange County Airport about 20 years ago. What a massive plane. There is an entire room down in the center of the fuselage. I guess passengers were carried in them to ships at sea.
