If you cant get to desktop/task manager?

A few pilots have mentioned previously that while running off2 and off3, that they cant get to out of the game and on to the desktop in any manner they have tried, which includes alt-tab, alt-ctl-dlt, or windows start button.

Should anyone that has had the same problem, and knows of a method to get out of the game without either killing it, or restarting, would appreciate it.

Obviously, anyone with this type of problem is going to have a tough time applying the off3mp fix.
 
I have had that with CFS3 on every PC I have owned. Others can do that fine.
Try pausing the sim, press esc to bring the menu down. Wait a few seconds then press and hold Alt, then add Tab firmly a second later. This usually lets me do this once, and get back in, any more and it will hang.

Vista 64 recently I have found actually much better at alt tabbing for CFS3 for me.
 
I just tried it and it worked on my pc so Im in... Duck, which mission from drop-down menu? Any?
 
The host only selects the mission

You only join the game.
Your either a host, or a joiner. Joiner enters ip host selects game. Host has to select game first and start it befor you join.
After and only after he has the game up and running do yo join.

Thanks pd, I just cant get any further if I don't choose a mission and according to your other post with screens all players have to do it - screen # 3. Sorry if im being stupid

suggetst you go to the last one,,,current campaign mission,,,,,dont think it matters which you choose,,,but thats what we are using.

Guys,

Follow the instructions and kill the manager/then select and fly the mission on your own/then kill the game
then restart the game with the exe and not the manager

select multi play

join or host

host only selects mission

Duck lets try any other mission - Sittingduck2? The 1 u suggested doesn't work...

sorry, didnt see this post (wasnt watching this thread)

But, if you are at that screen ( i belive its select active pilot for mission), and it has the date overide, and the drop down for the mission, then you will NOT be able to play mp.

If you follow the fix tuturial, (and I dont think it matters what mission you select when you are doing the fix), once you go thru it all, you can NOT start "over flanders field" If you do so, in order to play quick combat, or a mission, you have to rerun the fix again. So, considering you are asking what mission to pick, I am pretty sure you have to rerun the fix.

Make sure you have made a shortcut on your desktop to the cfs3.exe from your obd\overflandersfield folder

And, like pd said, get your overflandersfield shortcut off the desktop, or change the icon. I have already hit mine once just out of habit. As a result, i had to rerun the fix.

And, at this point, other than constanly doing the fix routine, if you play missions alot, quick combat alot, the only other work around is the other suggestion pd had, make a folder with a name of your choice, copy you obd folder to the new folder, and use one install for mp, the other for everything else.

I belive this is all accurate, if I misinterpreted anything pd said, i apologize...

but, bottom line is,,,if you are at the screen where it has the drop down and you have to select a mission, you can not play mp. you have to rerun the fix. and, after you do that,,,,always start the game from the cfs3.exe shortcut you make on your desktop

Hi,

Keeping in mind this is for people trying to do the pd multiplayer fix, when you are at the point you need to get into task manager, there is no "pausing the sim" as you have not started the game yet. But, seeing as how there are no other posts regarding this, may not be an issue.
