• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

This weekend is the Cactus Fly-In at KCGZ being held by the Arizona Antique Aircraft Association. I found out that Dad will be going in a flight of two with his friend who recently finished his Thorp. These sort of trips are kind of rare for Dad to make, and I am able to take the day off from work Friday so I will be going with him. We'll be there from around mid-day Friday through early afternoon Saturday. It would be fun to meet any SOH types that are local to the area. :wavey:

Too far for me but have loads of fun and take lots of photos to share with us east coasters.
Oh yea be safe.

Ah my home... the Santa Cruz Valley. Say hello for me.... too bad I am not there to meet up.

Take a peek off to the southeast and you will see Mt. Newman and Picacho Peak. Lived in the dawn shadows of them for years. Graduated from CGUHS in 85'.

Have fun... weather should be great! :wavey:

Since I did not bring anything Internet capable with me I saw your post after I got home...
There was not much to see on Friday due to the ugly wind that was present. At the time we landed it was a 90 degree crosswind, 15 kts gusting to 24 kts. Our partner managed to get down in two tries, we ended up taking three. I'm still not convinced we did not drift off the side of the runway at one point!

Today the wind was not bad, and there was a lot more to look at before we blasted off around 1000.
