This is Part 3 of my campaign series covering the fighter operations of the IJN Air Force over the Solomon Islands from 1942 to 1944.

It picks up where the Guadalcanal campaign ends, in November 1942 after the last failed attempt by the Japanese to reinforce their troops on Guadalcanal and defeat the Americans there

It ends in August 1943, with the Americans firmly established on New Georgia and basically on the doorstep of southern Bougainville.
