I might have posted before in fact i know I have but I can't find it.
Ok.
I can manually start the engine, take of and land, taxi back round and take of again. I crashed on the second landing. I'm far far far from combat or combat manouvers. How you guys do it is beyond me but I'll get there.
Are there any online games for CFS2? If so you can pick me off. I'll be the easy target! :wavey:

Welcome to the House, Jaquesmid! :wavey:
Try the CFS2 training section, it's very good to "earn your wings" by learning how to fly in the right way.

Don't feel bad repeating them over and over. We all did it, CFS2, like the other Microsoft civilian simulators, will enable you to sit at the control of a real airplane, if you take it seriously enough. One step at a time, this is not just another computer game.

Then there is a whole world, here at SOH, of flight model modifications which will make your aircrafts behave as close as possible to the real WWII warbirds.

Don't get frustrated if you crash. Learn the flight dynamics and "keep your airspeed up"!

My avatar shows how happy I was the day I took my first flight lesson after a few years flying CFS2.

Cheers!

Welcome Jaquesmid: Kelticheart is right on the money. I thought I was doing pretty good when I started landing on carriers. After I played with the wind settings, things got a little tough again. Take your time, get yourself up to 100% realism in the settings. It gets pretty real. I am doing a mission right now by Shadow Wolf 07, and I can barly get my plane into the air. I`m pretty sure because of this sim, you will become very interested in history. I have quite a few books, always trying to find stuff online. Take your time and enjoy.

You've found the right place !
All the guys are great here & there seems to be no end to the history connected to any theatre
you wish to fly in.
Just remember that help is only a mouse - click away !

Welcome

Welcome to our group. and our community!

These guys are right. I just have one thing to add. Pick a plane and learn it. stay with it tell you master what you want to master. I had some trouble at the beginning, when i started to fly in the sim world. My solution was to step out of the higher performance aircraft in the sim, and i found a good North American SNJ (AT-6) and started to learn the things in it. Then I took it up to the next logical step. I used the OH SBD that can be found here at the HOUSE and then I relearned from the curve of moving up into the faster combat aircraft. When I mastered "just the flying" in the SBD, moved over into the Grumman F4F Wildcat.

Work slow and enjoy. that's how i learned it.

I tried to learn fighters first. then I learned torpedo tactics and now I am working on the Dive Bombing tactics.

Yes we have so many aircraft out there now, that you can put yourself into any type of tactical situation. I am finding even in the sim world it takes nerve to fly low, slow, and straight while making a torpedo run.

Also mention was made of the civil flight sims......these can be a great tool in your en diver to learn CFS2.
As i said i learned this slow. When I started this CFS2 love affair of mine, I had no flight experience what so ever and I used Microsoft Flight Sim 2000 Pro to learn how to fly a Cessna and i moved on from there. Now i fly combat in our sim and i am a licensed pilot for light aircraft......in perticular a Cessna 150

These sims are a good tool to learn on.......but under no means think you don't have to take listens, because you do.........the sims are good education tool though.

Don't feel discourage by crashes. Crashes are the way planes tell you that you did something wrong, and planes want you to learn. They don't mean to make you feel pathetic about your flying skills, they are simply trying to encourage you. At least that is what I tell myself everytime I crash...which is quite often I must admit. The good thing about crashing in a sim is that you don't really die.

Take your time, follow the flight lessons, and you will get.

Jaquesmid; You also get a few laughs from the sim. Today I struggled to land on a little carrier, everything was great except I forget to lower my tail hook. It was not the 1st time. A few minutes ago, i did land, thought I`d be cool, folded my wing, proceeded to the stern, got lined up real good, set my breaks, throttled up, and away I went. I was only going about 55 when I headed for the drink with my wings still folded.
