Importing FSX aircraft to use as static objects in MSFS?

I had messaged Ron Zambrano (Razbam) for permission to use his A-7 series models to create static aircraft for MSFS. He gave me the "go ahead", and one of the members on Flightsim.to converted it for me.I found several tutorials on YouTube about importing aircraft from FSX into MSFS, but haven't located videos that specifically mention simply converting FSX to static aircraft for MSFS. I do know that Model Converter X (and I believe the Legacy Converter tool) are used to accomplish the task, but so far I have not grasped how to do it.Then I wondered if the SAMM (Static Aircraft Model Maker) tool would somehow be useful in this regard? I know it was made for FSX & P3D, but wondered if the "end product" of using that tool could THEN be converted somehow and THEN be imported into MSFS.If I can learn how to do this (major feat for me at least), then I would learn how to actually import them into MSFS sceneries and populate empty flightlines. A friend of mine on Discord has agreed to take on the job of recreating NAS Cecil Field (KVQQ) for MSFS. With the conversion of Razbam's A-7Es to static objects for almost all of Cecil Field SLUF squadron's, the flight line will look awesome! I have wanted this base scenery done again, ever since John Stinstrom did his version for FSX so long ago.I have provided all the info on Cecil that I could glean from the internet (sites such as the Ghost Bases), plus Facebook groups and memorabilia that I have saved from my time there. Really am looking forward to this. NC

SAMM can not do the trick alone but is a good first step. It can convert the flying mdl to a static mdl without the animations. Then MCX can convert it to gltf format. Finally one can use Blender to assign MSFS compatible materials and also create LODs and export them in MSFS gltf format. The LOD step is really important if you want a lot of statics on the flight line to not affect FPS.

Chief, I’ve done all these for the T-38 statics at Beale so I wouldn’t mind giving it a shot if you can share the A-7 model. I have the A-7 for P3D but I think I don’t have it yet installed, I’ll check.
