Hi stockplane,

http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/

At the bottom of this page you can find some nice tutorials. The most important to know is that the texture size is limited in cfs2 and that you need to convert the textures in a "extended bitmap format" before you can use them in cfs2.

It has been a while since I made my last repaint for CFS2, but when my memory is correct the maximum texture size is 512x512 and the best quality for the extended bitmap format is dtx3.

Cheers,
Huub

I remember that one. i was looking for a template.

I even bookmarked it. Sorry these are for IL2.

actually you can use up to 1024x1024 textures.
newr comps can handle them better then the old ones.

DTX3 isn't always the best in CFS2. It can cause conflicts with objects and shadows. most use DTX1 for alpha textures and extended 16bit 565 textures for those without alphas. for things such as props you'd have to ask Kelti.

For better answers ask UT, Bub or if you can find him, Sopwith C. There are a few others that can help as well. thats about the extent of my know how on the subject.
