Inception

I'm surprised not to see a thread on this film already given the threads we've had about various cinema releases in the past.

Has anyone seen it yet? What did you think?

Obviously taste is completely subjective and a deeply personal thing but I found it to be completely sublime.

In actual fact I felt rather melancholic after leaving the cinema because I couldn't help feeling that I've just witnessed as close to perfection in cinema as I'll ever see in my lifetime.

Of course in the cold light of day I may have been slightly caught up in the moment, but it was certainly an incredible film.

Well you beat me to it, I was about to make a thread for this masterpiece. Saw it last night and it was impressive, wholly original, visually marvellous and emotionally engaging. In the time of copies and re-makes this was a breath of fresh air. Sure it echoes some previous scifi films, but the concept and how it is executed is brilliant.

Many of the scenes gave me chills:salute::salute::salute:. I'll say it's one of the best movies of the 21st century.

The final scene (I won't divulge anything for those who haven't seen it yet) had me so involved with the film, I've never been so immersed and willed something to happen so much in a movie before.

I saw it on opening night and it received a standing ovation from the crowd, quite deservedly so in my opinion.

Wow, saw it now. Inception is one astounding film. Although not without flaws this is a mind blowing film -- in the literal sense. A cinematographic masterpiece too, and a amazing first hour and fully mastered ending. Great film, go watch it in the movie theatre!

Yuk, the synopsis sounds like a cross between Dreamscape and Vanilla Sky. Another one I'll check out on cable.

not at all like those two movies. A really origonal story well acted and with nice special effects. BTW, the special effects are a part of the story, not just for entertainment value.

I also agree, have to see it at least twice. So much going on in the interweaved stories.

HIGHLY recommended

I have not seen this movie yet. The previews and reviews of this movie make me think it is a continuation of the science introduced in Dreamscape. Put yourself in other peoples dreams to observe, influence or gain information. Very scary thought. But on the other hand....

i went to see it.... but fell asleep before it had even begun *Embarassed look* so i can't really comment... damn this Standby period :monkies:

It Just Occurred to me...

A blockbuster movie without:
Swearing
Sex
Smoking

Good heavens...
