"Patrick, by far the leader in merchandise sales and visibility in the series, appeared upset when she talked about the reaction."

Probably one reason, but to be honest, I detest that type of behaviour from so-called 'fans'.
They are only 'fair weather fans' and should be disregarded.
Pecker-heads!!

I have to agree with you wombat, those so called fans can stick it as far as I'm concerned! If they think its so easy to drive one of those cars, at that kind of speed, they might want to rethink that. Reading about this at Fox Sports, they said she was visibly shaking when she got out of the car. Not something I've ever heard about her before.

Why? Because the car was so stinking loose. Imagine trying to go 220+ MPH with a car ready to break loose at any moment! That takes a lot of guts! Taking that car to the edge like that, at those speeds, and bringing it back without losing it into the wall, says a lot about her ability I think.

I wonder if she is second guessing herself for signing that contract with Andretti! She ran better than that for Earnhardt.

No one on the Andretti team has gotten the speed out of their cars that they would like, even the engineers for their team has said that something is out of wack and needs to be fixed. Can't blame the drivers on this one.

There's a certain faction that would like to bring back the "glory days" of 800+ horsepower to the cars......I tend to somewhat agree since the most successful drivers of this current Indycar group all drove the 800+ horsepower turbocharged cars...

As far as Danica is concerned, I'd say she's clearly frustrated since her success in Indycar this year wasn't as it was last year & her stock car racing is still on a learning curve...
