Ini's F406 Released!

It's out! I'm still at work, but I'll be getting this one either tonight or tomorrow.

Well, I have it, and I'm not exactly happy with it. It looks good and flies well, but it has issues. I've posted these over at the MS forum, and I may try to find a way to get a response on ini's forums too.

Posted over at the MS forum...

I can't find way to hide the tablet without hiding the pilot's yoke.

Spray and observation controls are present on every panel version I've seen so far - including passenger and cargo.

When you hit the starters, the RPM rushes to 51% and then holds there rather abruptly before you ever introduce fuel. After fuel is flowing, there’s no change. Judging by every other PT6 in this sim, I’m pretty sure that’s not realistic.

If I run the PMS GTN650, the system starts out with the CDI running on Nav1 and there’s no way I can find to change that. If I change to the Asobo gauge (the tablet still says it’s a GTN650???), I now have a CDI button, but the gauge never changes from saying it’s on GPS, even though clicking it does have an effect on the gauges.

Lights… The Anti-Collision and Recognition Light switches do nothing that I can see. There’s no switch marked Strobe, but pressing whatever key you have bound to that function activates the wingtip strobes.

Bummer on all of the issues. Though not unexpected given how screwy the T 33 and Spartan were at release. Hope they get them fixed up for you soon.

I tried to replicate the Engine Start issue but for me they start normally. I hit the Starter button with the throttles cracked to flight idle and the NG RPM gauges climb normally and I cut the fuel control on at 40%. No sudden climbs except the ITT gauge which settles when cutting the engine start switch.

As far as the PMS panel, there is a Default Navigation button on the main PMS panel page. From there inside the Default Navigation page you see the CDI page which switches between NAV1 and GPS. You get the indication of which mode it is in both on that PMS panel and the gauge just below the transponder panel.

I was going to say that I got the nav button pointed out over at the MS forum, but thanks! I guess I'm just used to using the full sized 750. I may try it again later today, but I really wish Ini had put a little more polish on this before they released it.

Reverse thrust is almost non-existent. I noticed that pulling the throttles all the way back did nothing to the sound and nothing to slow down even a normal taxi. It barely made the engine instruments change from idle. So I opened up the engines.cfg and changed the minimum throttle from -.015 to -0.25, and now I have movement on the gauges, proper reverse performance (or at least close to it), and reverse prop sound.

There are certainly some screwy bugs in this model that I hope inibuilds fixes soon. I had a strange anomaly last night where the model was inexplicable going into Beta range on the props during the takeoff roll. I restarted the sim and it was fine. I did double check to make sure the VC switches were where they were supposed to be and the controllers. I guess that was another unseen bug. Fingers crossed on the upcoming fixes!
