I need help with multiple installs. I have CFS3 already installed, patched and moded. I want to create a new clean install so that I can install ETO. Do I need to uninstall what I have and start from scratch or can I just install CFS3 to a differnt directory on the hard drive and use that to install ETO MAW and so on?

Get the cfs3 multi install tool from Martin Wrights site.
beta section
MultiCFS3

http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm

very simple to use. just put in main folder and run, change name in current user folder box , hit accept .
My suggestion would be to put your clean install into the default place and put your other installs in with the multi tool. That way installing the addons (PTO, MAW. ETO ex, OFF, etc) is a little easier.

So just to make sure I am clear. I run the multi install tool and then install cfs3 again? I am sorry my knowledge of this stuff is very limited.

No, you only need one (preferably fresh) CFS 3 install. You then copy/past it to some new folder with the same character amount as the original (for instance Combat Flight Simulator 666 instead of 3.0), then put martin's exe in the new folder and run it. It will patch your new CFS3.exe so that it uses your new folder. You can clone as many time as you want, and keep a fresh install as a seed for other clone or full pack like ETO, PTO, MAW ...

If you already have a modded CFS3 you want to keep, simply change the folder name, re-install CFS3 to the stock folder, and patch your modded one with martin's tool.

Hope it helps. Martin's readme is WAY better than this :redf:

Perfect! Thank You very much! I do not know why I was so confused before.
