Installed aircraft

What file contains the aircraft for CFS2 to work properly? Thanks for any information:wiggle:

That is kind of an open question.

There is no one thing to the aircraft to make them work properly. More like if one thing is out or missing then it won't work.

Do you want to edit one?

Are you having trouble with an aircraft?

You need the folder for each. In it you need the panel, model, sound and texture folders. The other files that are needed are the Aircraft.cfg, .air file and .dp file.

If you've added a new aircraft and its not showing up or you get a CTD then I would look at the sound file first. make sure it is aliased to the correct AC or contains the porper sound files and sound.cfg. The same with the panel.

The more info you can give us the better we can help.

I have used ACman and I want to know which basic aircraft I have to place back in aircraft for the game to function and what file decides which aircraft is needed to run the game?

Put all the stock aircraft back for starters - everything installed from the original CD. And by default, these models are all listed in the qcb file located in the QUICKCOM folder. You can access it with any text editor.

I am going to read between the lines here...

If you are installing a purely ETO/MTO install, you can remove ALL stock aircraft to make room for ETO/MTO aircraft.
To do this you also have to go into the Campaign and Mission folders and remove ALL stock files.
Then, go to INFO and remove all stock aircraft from DESCRIPT.DAT
Then, go to the mdlnames.txt and remove all references to stock aircraft.
Then, use either MK's CFS2 utility or Jonesoft QC editor to add your new aircraft corresponding with your new ETO/MTO missions.

Finally, you have to make sure none, not even one, of your ETO/MTO aircraft are aliased in any way to the stockers; i.e. panel and sound.
