• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

I know this has been asked but I don't recall the reply...can P3 just be installed over P2? Or does one need to uninstall P2 and then install P3 alone?

At the moment I am "kicking myself"..I was lucky enough to order P3 merely moments after Winder posted the news of availability. I had it sent to my office so as not to have the local mailperson jam it into my mailbox.

I never thought that delivery would be so quick. Folks have been receiving their copies already and Monday here in the US is a holiday, so I need to wait untill Tuesday. :banghead:

Go ahead and just run the install. It is set to recognize that there is an install of P2, remove it and install P3. What you might want to do is save pilots, campagins, or specific skins you had as they might get removed as well.

Once you run P3, you'll never go back to P2, it's a whole new game. :)

So run the P3 install over P2,then remove P2 from the PC?

No, it will remove it during install. If there was anything that you added yourself, like planes, skins, etc. Copy them to another location so they don't get destroyed.

P3 will take care of the rest.... and get a damn avatar.. will ya!!

If I do a 2nd installation of CFS3 in say, C:\CFS3, and install P3 to that it would leave the P2 installation alone and both would still work, yes? I want to keep P2 installed so I have the ability to fly it with those not fortunate enough to get P3 right away. Also I can set people I know up with P2 to try out to get them hooked...

P3 uses the registry same place as P2.. don't try to run two together, if it falls over we won't help..

Like anything some people may well be able to spend time and work out ways to make them happily sit together but we will not support it.
