If you browse the website you'll also notice that the author has built a new xtomdl compiler, which is not as buggy as the old one in SDK, runs in 64bit and doesn't seem to have the dreaded 65k upper limit. It seems to compile real high poly models and even has a gui when invoked without parameters. Have not tried it myself yet though.
