I knew it would be risky following that link. I became suddenly overwhelmed with an urge.....

The 'modern' aircraft were interesting, but what got my notice were the colourized WWI photos in an adjacent thread. Some were just 'interesting' while a few hit me quite soundly as my wife and I just got back from a month in France, two weeks of which were spent wandering through the Somme valley, seeing (and standing in the same places) of many of the photos. I find it hard to look at them dispassionately now - they put faces in the places I've seen.
