I took these today at the local airport during a show. The Firefly is authentic, but the Spitfire is actually a full-scale replica made of wood & powered by an Allison engine. I'd say that's one cool home-built!

What ? A HOMEBUILT Spitfire. . . ?!! Fantastic ! I'd like to see how it's constructed -

It's been around a while, a couple more shots from 04 in Glendale, Az.

Overall, the Spitfire homebuilt appears faithful, but the sound of the Allison will be substantially different that either the Rolls-Royce Merlin or Gryphon.

However, I am thrilled to see that at least there's another option to keep the aircraft alive and flying!
