IRIS C-27J autopilot questions - is this correct?

I am still having problems with IRIS forums - I can signin - my profile shows I can post - when I try to post I get a "not authorized" message so I'll have to continue to ask questions here until someone from IRIS can help me use their support forum - I have sent them some e-mails so will now wait patiently.

The C-27J autopilot works pretty nicely except for three annoying problems (or maybe the real one also works this way - how would I know?)

When I click on HDG the heading bug on the HSI instantly moves to the current heading for the AC – even when I have set the heading bug to the desired heading. I then have to dial the heading to what I want to fly.

Is this the way it is supposed to work?

The same thing happens with the ALT REF and IAS – they both instantly go to the current value. That means during a climb the AC will instantly try to level out and the engines spool down to maintain the current speed. Those two actions are less than useful.

Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Additionally - the VS always goes to +2000 fpm whenever I change the ALTREF - I can change it easily enough but why does it default to +2000fpm which my version of the C-27J can never sustain and frequently can not even approach.

Is it possible to change the VS default? - Well YES - aircraft.cfg

Why doesn't the VS remember the last setting? If I climb from 10000 to 15000 at 800 fpm (the most my version will do) and level out. Why - when I want to climbe to 20000 does VS default back to some value - why doesn't it just use the last value?

I haven't tried their forum yet, but, it seems they used the SDK events that engage/lock the current entity, rather than that function's setpoint.

As for the VS it is changeable in the aircraft.cfg [Autopilot] section as you noted,
default_vertical_speed = 2000 // make it whatever you want the default setting to be.
Storing the last VS set value would be some more custom coding in an already overly verbose system.

I'm a little ticked with this thing. Even at the sale price, I expected to be flying, instead of fixing...Don
