Attention Solo Display Pilots!

This one didn't make it in time for the release for the F-16D, but I think it is a MUST for every showpilot out there! :jump:

I just uploaded the file at flightsim.com, so it should be available soon!

The paint was done with the upcoming paintkit, so all you repainters: get ready, everyone else: start drooling! ;)

Keep rockin' the skies!

Michael

Excellent paint !

Will there be a chute equipped F-16BM/MLU added to the package?

Thanks
Dag

:icon_lol: I know, it doesn't fit the Block 50 D-model.

I still thought I should not keep the paint to my self, as it is one of the most awesome paints schemes for the F-16, ever! :)

Dag, at this time there are no other models in developement.

Mr. Mike H.,

When you're done with the Paintkit and update paints package, would you kindly make an announcement for those of us waiting to purchase a completed, "Bug-Free"/SP Fixed, version? Thanks!

Also, this re-paint looks as good as Aerosoft's...Nice work! I like the higher res (4096) textures myself.

OK Michael, still, the F-16D is an outstanding package and this repaint looks very very nice, no matter. Looking fwd to doing some two seater paints as soon as the kit is out. I sure hope it will be soon, and I hope the layers include the "rendered" shadows that you have so masterfully done. I cannot do them at all !
How are they done btw, do you do it directly in 3DSMAX and they become a layer in the texture PSD ?? Or am I completely off track here ? Stefan did some similar ones on the AS PBY.

Thanks

Michael,
sorry but I have a question about the underwing roundels on your paint. Are they facing the right way, because it looks to me as if they need to be flipped to match the orientation of all the others ? Hopefully one of our colleagues from the Netherlands can confirm the Air Force rules that should apply here, even if it means my comment is totally out of court,
hope that helps,
regards,
Ro

Nice! I saw this aircraft 'in the flesh' about 10 days ago at Malaga airport, I thought at the time it would make a nice repaint subject, albeit for the single seater variant.

Hey Ro!

This is a little embarrassing... You are absolutely right, the underwing roundels are fliped. I have no idea how that happend... :icon_lol:
That's probably what you get when you spend 3 full days drawing and aligning the lion texture. You just have eyes for that...

Dag,

baked shadows are done in 3DS, they are a layer in the PSD file. They need some editing, though it's not just "click and go".

The basic concept however is very easy: The closer one part is to another, the less ambient light reaches it, the darker it is.
Thats why it is officially called "ambient occlusion".

Cheers,
Michael

Thanks for explaining, I had a vague feeling this was the case with the shadowing. The technique definetly belongs in FS. We had very little of it on the aerosoft and on this one you did it really shows the benefits. It really shines:)

Thanks

My I ask for an request Dag?, The '692' of 338 Skv, in the Artic Tiger Meet markings. At this moment it's participating in the Tiger Meet, Held at Kleine Brogel AB. I saw it last Friday during the spottersday together with the '692' airframe.

I know, and also hope that Michael will do an EPAF B-MLU package later on, but do not mind if it's not the correct model version.

Thanks anyway

grtz,

Lenny

We'll see Lenny. I have pretty good reference on it, including the tiger-segments on the fuselage etc.

Thanks

Really beautiful paintwork Michael! The scheme is af course already very spectacular, but you have captured it excellent!

Yeah you can't beat "Sheik" for a good F-16 display, I saw it earlier this year and to me it was the best display there at Sunderland the only thing that was better than seeing this was the Vulcan!
