Iron Cross jamboree

Perhaps this is something of note. I had a particularly large number of kills pending for quite some time in my current campaign flying for the German air service. I actually had 12 kills confirmed at once raising my kill total to 20, and was then awarded no less than three Iron Crosses, to go along with my Iron Cross that I earned for my first 5. I now have the odd distinction of having four Iron Crosses! I can see Hauptmann Stransky turn green with envy all the way from here (who catches that reference)!
Now, I know there were four orders of the Iron Cross, but am I not correct that only the first two orders were awarded to ranks outside the general staff? Is the Iron Cross awarded in the game meant to be a catch all for all four classes? Are there any other German decorations? Perhaps this was a bug that I ran across for receiving so many pending kills confirmed at the same time? Am I going to have to pull a Leutnant Stachel to get my Pour Le Merite?

This is a minor thing and my immersion in the game is not really effected, but I was simply curious if anyone else has a chest jingling with Iron Crosses.

Yeah, I have some trouble keeping my poor pilots alive as well. This one's the first one that's lasted a while.

I don't know if there's much of a secret beyond flying the Albatros D.II in late 1916. I shot down 5 DH2's in one day with the Albatros, they just don't stand against my speed and firepower. I've found the Albatros has a really bad roll rate, isn't that precise on rudder adjustments and obviously it can't turn with the Nieuport machines, but it is very stable, fairly acrobatic is fast for its time and doesn't stall easily. Using its advantages I'm taking a murderous toll on Pushers and Quirks.

As for surviving, parly it's luck and partly it's just being careful. I make sure I know where the front is at all times, keep a good eye on friendly airbases and I am not afraid to dive for the deck and use my Albatros' speed to get the heck out of Dodge when I'm outnumbered by a large margin. That said, I followed similar rules with other pilots and would still occasionaly get shot in the head by a stray bullet, so luck plays a factor. I've been shot down four times, crashed due to plane or technical fault twice and every time I've managed to either only land in the hospital and got away from the prison camp the one time I was captured. I'm sure my luck will run out soon enough.

I think it would be fair to say the awards component of the game needs some serious work. Those medals look ropey and four ICs is just wrong. One bar at most I would have thought, and all in hi-res would be the ticket.

Can these images be replaced in the game folders or are they hard-coded? I think I'll take a look; if some general tried to pin one of those on me I'd feel obliged to kick him in the shins.

I found the medals. At their native size they look very good. It looks like the game blows them up though, which pixelates the crap out of them. Shame.

Those medals should be theyr original size. I dont know why these are zoomed and look really pixelate. I made the medal pictures quite little size like they were in p1-p2.

One Iron Cross per flight!

This will protect experienced pilots, as all crosses must be worn on all flights.

Engines may need more power. Send for the chief engineer at Mercedes.

Excellent. Back to my Bruno Stachel like destructively obsessive quest to receive more and more shiny decorations to prove I'm better than my aristocratic squadmates.

My medals look just the same as pictured above. Large and zoomed in.

I run in 1920 x 1080. Not sure if that is a factor or not.
