Is PC Games Going The Way Of The Dinousars?

I had bought a PlayStation 2 but my conception of what Playstation is was flawed, I went through the list of games and saw very very few that I might like. I returned the Playstation 2 and got a refund..I will stay with the PC Game enviroment to the end.

Cheers

I have a PS2, PS3, X-box 360 just for the "fighting" games (Soul Caliber, etc.).

For FS and first-person-shooters, I've tried to do them on the consoles, but for me it's just not as rewarding an experience as playing on a PC. Graphics are great, but the over-all game-play factor isn't there for me with certain genres of games.

i dont like it, but i think so.
just looking at how the space repartition for PC vs Console games changed at my local shops...

the two last years, we been going from 60 percent PC to 25 percent PC games and programs in general.

and not a sigle new CFS

I think its the opposite way, Playstations and X-boxes are going to be extinct in the next few years.

Hi all,
I do not think they will become extinct. But we may see less of the kiddy games.Onlime games such as WOW do not seem to transfere well to consoles.Niether do simulators.

I truly hope not.

My thoughts too Warbird.

The only place I've seen in the last few years that had any kind of lineup for PC games is WalMart.

Game Stop, having bought out EB, is pitiful. For PC games they have only 2 racks with a limited selection. And some of their stores have even less of a selection.

And it's getting to where I have to wait for the PC prices to come down so I can afford the good ones. That's the killer for me on a fixed income... I don't get to play the new titles when they come out. :frown: But then again, the prices for console games are even higher. And thankfully I don't own one of the console machines.

Well I have been playing with the console. The Playstation 3 on a plasma tv in 1080i looks nice...as much as I hate to say this I am getting away from the FS gaming because I am getting tired of spending loads of money only to find out the stuff I paid a boat load of dollars to play a game is already out dated. In the console games there is no updating. The scenry in the few games I have been playing puts all the PC games to shame. I spent about five hundred on the playstation3....a hundred bucks for a couple of games and I have been having a blast. On FS9 and FSX I couldn't even begin to tell you how much I have spent on the add-on ,planes,scenery..ect..ect...I know it is well over two thousand and still growing. In FSX I can't even fly in a area like Washington with out have to lower the setting to get enough frame rates to fly through the area. The last add on scenery I brought from Aerosoft totally trashed FSX in flight. I found out later it would do better using XP instead of Vista. So Moe has kinda moved away from the PC Gaming.

It is always nice to play some games on the good old PS2. I spend most of my free time on my laptop flight simming or playing PS1 games on my PSP.

I think if one were to die out, it would be the consoles. At least in the kind of gaming most of us associate with gaming. Things like the Wii are probably the future of consoles, whilst "serious" games will move to the PC. It'll be interesting to watch what happens though.

I have the slim line Playstation 2 console and a good selection of racing, first person shooter (mostly WW2 theme....Medal Of Honor series) and a few sword and shield games. I use the PS2 for most of my gaming.

FOr the PC, I have a few games....Band of Brothers, Brothers In Arms, Deadly Dozen that I play.

I spend most of my "gaming" time in either CFS2 or FS9. CFS2 has been an addiction for going on 2 years, FS9 I just got for Christmas.

I use gaming as a stress relief and to do things I can't do in real life...like driving at 200 mph the wrong way down a one way street...tried that in real life but the way my wife was screaming took much of the joy out of it.

I got my wife a Wii console for Christmas to use as part of her therapy recovering from her brain sugery....it's amazing what a week of playing Wii bowling did for her right shoulder strength and flexibility.

It does appear that consoles have got the better of PC's when it comes to gaming...

Boy do I miss all the Janes PC games...:frown:

I've still got Janes WWII Fighters. The other one I should reinstall is Strike Fighters: Project 1. That had great graphics in it and was a hoot to fly. I hear there's been some great addons and mods for it too.
