Is this important?

I just got finished installing a fresh copy of CFS3.
When installing the 3.1 update, I took a close look at a window that popped up and realize I never took a very close look before.
This notice may have always popped up but I didn't take time to read it carefully.
What does it mean? is it important? Do I need to do anything? Ignoring it never seemed to affect anything with any of my previous installs
but duh?

p.s. This install is on my Win7 64 bit machine and again there was no Mission Builder installed so I have to install one manually because
I want to install another copy of DPC Korea and I need MB to be copied to Korea for the Korean MB to have the Korean terrain.

Hello,
Check if the file in "read only".
If yes : to change use the "right click" and properties.
Hope it helps

So I looked in roaming appdata cfs3 and the bak file was there.
I assume I don't have to change anything, right? or . . .what?
There is also this bak file/folder in the CFS3 root directory.

So why the message in the patch installation window? Anybody? Don't beat the door down to answer.

Hi Rich,

My take on it is, you do not have to worry, the patch was still applied. But the game could not make a backup of your original config file before updating it with the patch data.

I would take a look at the read only settings for your config file, as suggested above.

there are several functions that make back ups of verious files in CFS3 whilst its running, thats why you can find the file named up with BAK at the end even though the patch never got to make one before doing its thing.

regards Rob.
