I was flying out of KNTU earlier today, and just off the coast of NAS Oceana is a highway with a tunnel.

The highway is not a hardened surface, so you can't land on it. That, I believe, would be able to be modified to be landable.

But it would be so cool to be able to not only land on the highway, but what about driving through the tunnel?

Just thinkin' out loud.

That would be cool because then you could do dispersed operations like the Swedish Air Force does!

Have you tried driving there in a vehicle? There are a few vehicles available for FSX now and it's fun to go exploring sometimes.

Well, I tried landing on the highway, and that wasn't possible; went right through it. So I assume if I changed from aircraft to car, it would do the same thing?
