Im looking for some freeware scenery that allows me to do short island hopping flights.

What do you recommend? For fs2004

Hi,

Whereabouts do you want to fly ? Island hopping up the west coast of the US/Canada would get different replies from island hopping across the Pacific. Then there's Greece and the Caribbean .....

anywhere really as long as it is freeware and works with fs2004.

if you like the caribbeans , antilles 2004 by FS antilles group is a pretty neat one .
[FONT=verdana, sans-serif]antilles2004int.zip on avsim
also do a research for christian delblond on avsim in the FS2004 section
he has made awhole lot of neat airports for the carribeans

there are also plenty of files available for french polynesia and the hawaiian islands by bill melichar , gottfried razek and kazuo kawamura among others .
just do a search on "french polynesia" and "hawaii" at avsim as well .

One could always go to flightsim.com and search there map scenery data base. Tons of great Caribbean airports.

For island hopping, I'd head to Hawaii. You'll want to install a better mesh though. The link below will give you a good selection. Hawaii has a great selection of both large airports and small airstrips. There's also a few challenges there. Honolulu (PHNL) has two water runways if you like floaters, and Bradshaw Army Airfield (PHSF) is 6190' ASL - try getting the Piper Cub up there!:isadizzy:

Oh, here's that link:

The maskrider scenery for FS9 is great too if ya wanna fly short hops around the pacific. Solomon islands has many short hops.

We did a race a couple of years ago up thru the Solomons hopping the islands. Real fun in a Fokker D.VII :d
