Ito's Early Phantom

Guys,

I installed Ito-San's really good FH-1 Phantom in my FSX install. It flies great. However, when it is stopped at the end of the runway or parked, it wants to pivot around a point (even when the engines are off) and no amount of rudder input will stop it. Anyone else ever seen this.

BTW, I am using the FSX install with the RSFG_Phantom model of Mark Rooks.

As Andy Griffith might have said, "Curious, curious, curious!" :isadizzy:

Curious indeed. I tried the Mark Rooks FSX conversion and got the same strange rotation you got. Setting and releasing the brakes seems to change the rotation left or right. I don't know what to tell you, except a couple oh-by-the-way items: (1) You need to add tailhook, launch_assistance and LSO entries to the aircraft.cfg file for carrier ops and to raise/lower the hook, and (2) Also add a folding_wings cfg entry to activate the folding wings. Why not try Paul Clawson's FSX-native FH-1?

Based on a quick read, it sounds like a contact point/cg problem to me. I say that because I had another plane I had installed that was being developed for FS9 and it had the same problem. Once I corrected both of those issues the problem went away. I offer that for reference, since PutPut's plane should work fine. :)

Here is a 'better' (10 minute tweak) set of cnt pts. I left the old values in for comparison.

Here is a graphic of where the cnt pts (aparently-judging by dust cloud) are in relation to the actual wheels. No bueno.
