Thanks to the recent Harvards in the Warbirds of Wanaka and my love for Ito-sans aircraft I decided to bring the Texan into the paintshop for some new clothes
Im not a good painter as such but here are the results so far ready for my next video
Harvards have certainly masqueraded as most things in the movies, but I'm not sure I've seen a German cross on one!
That's an amazing mix, can't wait for the video!
According to a photo caption in the Squadron book T-6 Texan in action - 111 were received in France before their fall to the Germans. 50 of the NA-64's were captured and used by the Luftwaffe as trainers. The markings in the photo were overall yellow with black anti-glare panel,
And there's still one on the RAF register! Its based at Boscombe Down and is in yellow. Apparently they use it a a low speed camera ship cos they can take most of the canopy off.
Very nice repaints.....the German painted one is based at Van Nuys in California and is part of the Condor Squadron who operate a fleet of T-6s. The Japanese schemed example was owned by pop star Gary Numan in the 80s and 90s and is one of the many that I've been lucky enough to have flown in.
Thanks for the info guys..the german one was a take on the Buchons paint scheme used in the film 'Battle of Britain', didnt realise there was one actually painted up in Luftwaffe camo
The rest are all real world aircraft from pics I found on the internet
