It's time to get "schooled" in Europe...

To all,

Just in time for the kiddies, I'm releasing the Battle for Europe rework, with an additional 27-mission campaign for the Allies. This chronicles the CFS1 late-war campaign, updated for CFS2. The outstanding German side was originally done by Dominique Rollin. (Who also wrote the 'Leningrad' campaign)

The Allied side is my creation, accomplished in a similar manner to the CAI / Chianti campaign...the German missions are "flipped" and altered significantly. Also included is an optional Schweinfurt raid for those who have the Donationware B-17 and the accompanying airbases. These are seven missions for the British, and twenty for the United States Army Air Corps.

This campaign covers the last twenty months of the war in Europe, and there are a few bombing missions thrown into the mix along with a healthy dose of fighter-bombing missions, fighter sweeps, and escorts for you fighter jocks.

For now, the VB planes Me-262 is being used, though Simonu continues to diligently work on the multi-lod update for Pierre's GMAX Me-262.

I hope you enjoy, I've worked on this off-and on for the last two years. It would not have been possible without Achim and Ettico, but there are several others who helped get this project finished as well.

Update: I also uploaded the updated Messerschmitt Me-262 campaign. Thanks to Moonbutter2 for allowing the project!

P.S. - If you don't want to wait until the morning for them to be in the download queue, you may go onto my site and download both of them! (Click on the link in my signature)

Thanks, Rami ... I remember years ago trying to get that campaign to run right ... I don't recall the EXACT results ... let's just say that I remember them as being ... how should I say ... unsatisfactory.

:ernae:

You should find these very satisfactory. If you're flying them as single missions...fly 'em more than once. Odds are it'll be different much of the time. That's part of the fun!

BTW...Since Bill mentioned it, this was the original basis for the rework: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb2.cgi?section=cfs&file=BFE.zip

And...there are a couple of dead links you may find in the readme instruction manuals. I have checked, and all the essential ones are there. This should not in any way affect the basic installation of the campaign.

Fantastic stuff Rami! If the rain continues (like it seems to), i will have plenty of time for your epic accomplishment..

Morton :ernae:

Got 'em stored Rami! :ernae:

I will eventually get back into Europe, but I still have to help take back the Philippines first. :kilroy:

Thanks

From the "figures" department:

CFSFrance has dropped off-line. It was up yesterday, so I hope it's only temporary. The Ta-152 is from the Designer Aircraft Group, affiliated with CFSFrance. Unfortunately, this affects both the Me-262 and Battle For Europe campaigns.

I will try to find an alternate source for these files.

CFSFrance is back up, so the original link in the download should now be working. Sorry for any inconvenience! :ernae:

Rami

Thanks for another great campaign. I had played some of the previeous BFE missions.

Which Komet (Me 163)are you using? You have included, once again, a really wonderfull readme file:applause:. But I haven´t found the link for that airplane:bump:. Sorry for the question! That´s what happens when you spoil us!!

Thanks again, Discus:wavey:

Discus,

I could have sworn I put that in there...:isadizzy: Apparently I didn't...oops!

This one: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=9012

Since you're only a flight of three, it's not really a frame-rate issue. This is also a good time to bring it up...don't try and hit the "info" button flying that mission under a German flag. I haven't been able to nail down a cause, but it will CTD the mission.

That one's a lot of fun. Get in the air and climb almost vertically to get on the B-17's tail. Nothing like blowing through a flight of eight Mustangs at 520 knots and watching them scatter like paper leaflets.

There's also a 20% chance you might blow up on takeoff, so keep that ejection handle in reach! :icon29:

Thanks for taking an interest in the campaign, this has been a project that had been in the works for a long time, and was something that I felt was lacking in late-war Europe.

Thank you Rami. I´ve just downloaded the file. Tomorrow the the little friends will see me flying through the clouds :icon30: and smacking down some bombers.

Cheers, Discus:ernae:

First of all thank you Rami!

Second, isn't this a great Sim that allow us to fly in as many Theaters and with virtually every plane that participated in World War two?!

WoW :medals: :icon29:

Miami,

I know, I mentioned CFSFrance is back up. It was down a couple of days ago.

I didn't bother to translate it...I know enough French to find my way around.
