Japanese Aircraft Speeds etc.

I read a thread on here about the faux speeds and characteristics of the AI planes a couple of days ago and cannot find it now.

However, this: http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/Table_Of_Contents.htm might be of assistance.

I have gone through all of my aircraft and changed the DPs to match the historic performance on each.

NOTE: As stated in the earlier thread on the Zero fighters, the rates are metric not US standard so use Km/hr not MPH and meters not feet.

Lee,

I've done the same thing with the .dp files for every auto-installer campaign I've released so far, for the same reason. And the screwiest thing of all is that in Mission Builder, it is feet and knots. :dizzy:

Another consequence of the rush to market against the IL-2 franchise back in that day...not enough time to think everything through and tie up the abundant loose ends.

...and I'm pretty sure the distances between surface objects (eg: ships) is in miles. Go figure...

Mission builder can use metric. Go to setting change Units of Measure to metric and hit OK. After that un-select any moving object and when you re-select it. Speed and Alt will now be metric.

After going through my USAAC install and correcting all of the a/c in the folder, I REALLY have to wonder what BOZOs M$ hired to develop those specs.....

The vast majority have NO bearing to reality. The only values close were a few ceiling altitudes.

Then there is the variances of gun round power......those are all over the place as well.
