Japanese pilots arm bands in RS

Hi OT,

It used to depend on which pilot you chose to fly as. theres 5 japanese character models in RS only one of them has the armband painted into it.

There are 10 historical pilots represented across both the Army Airforce and Imperial Japanese Navy. these 10 pilots refere to one of the 5 character models as a base.

The model called wendler (which is the defualt model used by the cut scenes) has the arm band painted onto it. the rest of the models do not have the arm band painted onto them.

None of the player assigned characters are using the wendler model as a base, so thats why you dont see the arm band on your pilots now. we replaced the older PTO pilot textures with newer ones, but it appears I missed putting the new skin into the wendler model. (german name as I was updating it slipped my mind I had used the base german model to quickly get around having to redo all the cut scenes.) I'll put it in the list for the next update.

In the short term if you want arm bands back you can replace the texture in the saburo and anabuki character folders with the one from the wendler folder. (just rename wendler to suit each). and then fly using one of the characters listed below, and you will see your pilot with arm band.

Matsuba IJN
Anabuki JAAF
Kato JAAF
Shinohara JAAF
Takayasu IJN
Sakia IJN
