JetCamVideo: Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center

Overflew the Kennedy Space Center today, and the controller was nice enough to let us slow to 200 knots so the passengers could get a good look at the place. Didn't see the Shuttle, so I'm guessing it was in the Vehicle Assembly Building.

My wife and I have reservations in Coco Beach in Feb. we are going to try and see the last shuttle launch.

I love the zoom feature on those glasses.

Dontcha just love it when a voice comes over the intercom, from those chaps up front with the 180+ view:
"Well folks this is a rare occasion: traffic control has allowed us a slow pass over blah blah which is only visible once every 36 years and today must be one of the best ever. Those on the left hand side will have a really good view for about 11 seconds as we turn to land."

And as they plaster themselves all over the windows, you wonder what bit of random good fortune bought you a right hand window seat in an aircraft booked to 110% capacity...:banghead:

I thought the last shuttle launch was going to be in February also but we were just there and on one of the tours they said that the shuttle was going to fly until the space station was complete. That meant at least two and possibly three more trips. I would also like to see a launch and February is a great time of year to get away from Northern Illinois.
