Well, I'm sure this is something you've always wanted to know, lol....yeah right. A PNF is an acronym for Pilot Not Flying. It's somewhat uniform for airlines to break down the duties of flying the plane into two sets of tasks, and in the USA, many airlines use the acronyms PF and PNF to separate the tasks. The Pilot Flying (gets to fly), and the Pilot Not Flying (gets to be the secretary), and it's pretty much well scripted out as to who-does-what tasks. No one gets to be the PF all the time, you split it up. One leg you're the PF, and the next your the PNF...it's only fair.
