JF-AH DH Mosquitos repaints

Shessi

SOH-CM-2025
Hi Folks,
Isn't that typical it's just like buses, you wait for one and several turn up! :d

Just uploaded two re-paints of the Just Flight/Aeroplane Heaven's DH Mosquito pack. One a bomber Mk BIV and one a nightfighter NFII.

There'll be more to come and I'll try not to cover the same ones as RobH!

Cheers Shessi

also works for a MKXXXNF:wavey:

Hold on H!
I've got a couple of NFXXXs coming along nicely.:jump:

TBH, as you probably know, the all-black paint scheme went out early '42-43, so the XXXs only had the standard FBVI scheme, some with black undersides.

The other thing, and I don't want to start on the JF Mossie problems! :a1451:, but they made the model without or very little shine. The thing is no aircraft, even those with sooty black paint schemes, were completely matt. I 'shined' the whole of my JF Mossie collection, with a lttle sheen, and they look much better for it.
The only truely all-matt ac would be something like the F117 and the B2, with modern paints and chemistry, to be totally energy absorbant.

A quick run through mk_mdlc on 0.3 and 10, will give you a more realistic sheen.

Cheers Shessi

Mark,

looking great, another talent I didn't know you possessed, I've been away too long*, D'oh!! They really are looking great, will have these in my hanger ASAP.

Has anyone done a skin for the proto? Would love that too. Speaking of which, has anyone seen dedicated FMs for each model, I remember reading that they all had the same one.

Glad you like 'em!

Can do any one of many Mossies.... but if you're a 'spotter' unfortunately you'll be unhappy with certain models.
The problem is none of the models have the short engine nacelle with small covered exhausts that the proto and some of the very early BIV series I had(see I've become a spotter coz of this project!!! Getting my anorak next week...:costumes:). I did do a quick yellow proto version whilst doing the BIV, so in the next week or so.

H,
I run XP so wouldn't know about Vista, so why not give it a go? Back up any mdl before, and chuck it through mk_mdlc....

Up for any version, again Daddy Mac, it is not possible to 'paint' the glass, I could make it opaque with a single colour, the best bet would be to skin an FBVI.

I've talked to Brian aka RobH about doing these, so no doubt we'll do a few between us.

Hi Shessi,

"A quick run through mk_mdlc on 0.3 and 10, will give you a more realistic sheen."

Could you specify what these numbers refer to, and where they "plug in" to mk_mdlc ?

Thanks !

Alastair

Mark,

I assume that you are in your local pub somewhere in merry old England and will respond to my emails soon. Please send me copies of these skins as the SOH links are down.
