JF F27 released! (29th April)

Anyone have any updates on the possible release date of the JF F27? Seems like while we are being bombarded hourly with "JF Tornado porno", comm on the progress of the F27 has gone somewhat silent...

I did see a neat YouTube posted by one of the Beta Testers on 9 Feb-- but nothing since then. Any news?

The Fokker is scheduled for a February release. This is the latest info from our newsletter:

We're currently putting the finishing touches to our new Fokker F27 Friendship 100/200/300 collection for FSX and P3D, which is scheduled for a February release. We'll be posting full details soon, but in the meantime we've added a new selection of screenshots so you can see how it's progressing.

The Tornado is still in-development and therefore has plenty of progress to show off. The Fokker is finished from a visual point-of-view and its just going through final testing, so there isn't much to be shown at this stage.

...and this ladies and gentlemen is why Devs don't give out release dates because impatient people can't control themselves.

In most lines of business, enthusiasm for upcoming products would be welcomed-- but I keep forgetting...for a couple of the major developers, their view of the world is well..."different". Swap out "Southwest", and this commercial pretty much captures the attitude I'm referring to:

As for the double snipes above from the sidelines: Thanks, guys...Feel better??? Hope so.

'Nuff said.

Just wondering if the vagaries of the pneumatic system have been taken into account (for those that don't know F.27 used compressed air
instead of hydraulics! Nosewheel steering was a self contained hydraulic system, powered by compressed air too)... the agb mounted compressors wouldn't chime in until @ 11,600 prop rpm... then there's the fun of having prop hang up on one of pitch stops while taxiing and egt's going through the roof.. happy days...

this is one of 3 the company I worked for back then had ----> http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fokker_F-27_(PH-FFF),_Dublin,_February_1993_(01).jpg#file... ex Icelandic with full power Dart 7, (mk532-7) 2,030 shp, flown on it loads of times as crew chief, picture taken in Dublin, when we had a Dublin-Cork-Shannon and return freight contract... company went bust in March 1993.

AFAIK one subtle difference between the Fokker and Fairchild builds is that the latter used a hydraulic system for gear operation.

YouTuber Flightsim481 has done an in-depth preview of the F-27 on his YT channel, for those of you wanting a good look around before release.

Might want to take another look. Flightsim481 says it's an updated video with a publish date of Feb 16.

Nice video!

So it is an update! Really nice...obviously looking forward to this release...

Thanks for the heads up, monk1!

No problem Kent, I'm looking forward to this one also. I hope some of the talented painters out there can do some more US liveries, Allegheny, Piedmont, Mohawk, etc. Or I'll have at it with my limited painting skills. Just personal livery preferences of course.

...And let's not forget Bonanza, Air West and Hughes Airwest (though all were actually Fairchild F-27As...).

Looking at that video, I am impressed by the systems depth and overall detail. They got the RR Dart sounds done pretty well. I've been around a few of them up close during post-maintenance engine run-ups and once in the cockpit during a run-up and from my recollection, it sounds right. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!

Has the F27 vanished? I thought it was almost done? Matter of some week?

I wondered the same thing but knowing all too well how things go in Beta, chances are they are making adjustments/adding things they feel they need to do to make the end product better for release. Having seen a couple of the early Beta videos, I saw a number of things I hope they would iron out and upgrade. We'll be enjoying it soon enough I suppose.
