JF Hunter released

Not shabby at all!
Really captures the lines well and if I were to be picky at all I (just me, myself) think the gun troughs are a little too 'black', but we can live with that!

The Spitfire was the sexiest single-seater in WWII, the Hunter is one of the sexiest jets of all time...

I always thought the dewsign of the Hunter was something special, in the same way I could drool over a Spitfire...

I am sure that I am on a forum that understands this :)

I don't know if I can resist the temptation to buy it... I should probably just cave in and save myself the pain LOL

Wombat, your pictures only make the pain caused by resistance worse... :)

It flies great, very stable. Easy on the eyes and system.

It has all the potential to become one of my favorite aircraft.

The pics on the release mail i got don't look anywhere near as dark as your pics.....

I bought this right away as it is one of my favorite aircraft ever. The external shape is spot on and the FDE "feels" correct and it is a joy to fly. Overall quite happy with it.

If I would like something improved is the textures on the canopy and cockpit sides. They could be made more hi res, as now they are in contrast with things like the seat and panel:

Oh the Hunter will bite...believe me. The beta team included a Swiss Hunter pilot with a penchant for accuracy...:engel016:

Thought the Hunter was hands-on at all times, too frisky to fly hands-off? I may be mistaken...

To address that directly, you need to fly this aircraft - it can't be just left to its own devices, yes it is very stable in some respects but that doesn't mean it will stay where you leave it if your attention decides to wander. Generally, it is very stable in pitch, less so in roll. I don't think it's been mentioned in the manual but you are able to over-G and high speed stall. You need to fly the aircraft at all times - just because the stick can be pulled fully aft doesn't mean it should be!

It's been developed with realistic coefficients throughout - may cause it to be 'extra twitchy' using default weather but toned-down (i.e. more realistic level) winds and turbulence or clear default weather should give you an enjoyable simulation. The first point of call was the Pilots Notes, and then as Baz mentioned we had the very tangible benefit of a Swiss Hunter pilot.

There are many 'interesting' little characteristics which we have tried to reproduce, to give just one example, there is a note in the PNs that with full external tanks "longitudinal control on the climb is sensetive and care must be taken not to over-control. With fuel in the outboard drop tanks, not more than half control column travel is to be used during manoeuvres in the rolling plane; such manoeuvres should not exceed 360 degrees without pause, to avoid the build up of excessive rates of roll" Try it and see!

Picked it up first thing this morning after seeing the announcement on FB and have been flying it all day. Very enjoyable. Thanks much. :encouragement:

He's probably running P3D in HDR which makes everything waaay too dark. Or maybe it's a shader mod for FSX.

Should have mentioned P3D3 and it's 'Dirty Weather'.
And I do prefer some depth in the weather as opposed to 'Bright and Shiny'.
Just a personal choice JDT.

Just a quick praise. Absolutely love the this jet. Great job guys! I really really like the pilot figure. Love the animations. love how he cracks his neck side to side while waiting on the ground. Very life-like...very immersive. Love the details. DL the paint kit and it's great.

Anyway...just a quick question/request if you ever do a service pack, or feel inclined to indulge someone for no apparant reason in the future. :mixed-smiley-010: If it's possible to get a discretely mapped specular to the main airframe texture rather than the generic mapped one being used? or is it mapped? Anyway...That's it. Excellent work guys, highly recommended.

Darned thing bit me earlier... GLOCd me trying to recover from an ill-thought through manoeuvre and I got control back just as I was about to go through the treeli....KRUMP!

I've also had to recover from many, many, high speed stalls whilst throwing it around. You really do have to keep an eye on it, but it is great fun to fly.
