JF Lucarinny aircraft carriers

Peperez,

Spectacular looking ships. I see that they are made with FSDS V3. Will that cause problems with the conversions?

AMAZING ... SIMPLY AMAZING ... PLEASE KEEP US POSTED, PEPE ... THIS IS REALLY FIRST RATE AND I HOPE THEY CONVERT EASILY!:ernae:

I need help...

Europa converted easily but shows some problems. How can I raise the hull?

Hmmmmm I know in G-max the line for zero represents either waterline or ground level, perhaps the same with fsds

My two bits:

It's another case of the downside of converting FSDS3 models with MDLC. In this instance the conversion has trashed the mdl vertices that defined the model coordinates for the waterline. The original waterline vertex has been replaced with the deck surface vertices in the mdl. You'll notice that the stock CFS2 ships don't use contact points in their cfg's. That's because the points are designed into the mdl.

There's no way to compensate for this short of revamping the source files in FSDS2 and going forward from there. It would be like designing a flat roof building - you have a floor (or bottom) and a flat roof. In this paricular conversion process, your floor is being deleted in the conversion due to parameters set by the original design programming of FSDS3.

How could it be converted properly?

Well, its like i said above, in order to ensure 100% MDLC compatibility, you'll need a mdl prepared with FSDS2 instead of FSDS3. MDLC just doesn't work well with FSDS3 products because the FSDS designers changed some of the programming parameters in the update from v2.2 to v3. You can't even design from the gound up for CFS2 in FSDS3, only FS9 and FSX. Its just not compatible.

He works at FSDS3 and saves it at FSDS2...

If he does that then there's no need for conversion with MDLC. He can just save it as a CFS2 mdl and let you take it from there in providing the other necessary components to make it a true CFS2 AI ship, such as the model.cfg and model folder, the panel, texture and sound folders, and finally the ship.cfg and dp. He doesn't need to have CFS2 installed to save the mdl as a CFS2.mdl. However, for animated guns and radar apparatus in CFS2 he may need to create or convert all animation tags to the parameters used in CFS2. That should be no problem for him.

Hi Pepe, get yer mate to make full hulls, one of these days someone will be able to make the ***'s roll and capsize.:icon_lol:

regards Collin:ernae:
