I finally got my P3D v2.3 running, after a fresh install and some tinkering.
Fired up my test scenery I'm working on and am quite pleased. The test scenery is a project I'm working on for implementing new methods of scenery design for a big Solomon update. A few months ago I had the idea to release JFAR when it reaches a mature state. The island you see in the video is completely fictional and everything is done by hand - even the mesh (heightfield) is self created and the ground textures are phototiles that are drawn by hand in photoshop. It also has large 3d objects like cliffs and rocks, made in 3dsmax. Last but not least, I designed a lot of new static objects in 3dsmax that will find their way into the new Solomon work.

Here's the unedited video (captured with the Nvidia Capture tool, bye bye FRAPS). It is downsized to 720p, so it is maybe better to view it on youtube.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks, still way to go with the scenery. But I have raised the bar with some scenery elements for my work already which will be valuable for the next large Solomon update.

Re the F4U, these should be the default sounds for the Corsair! Despite it's age it is still one of my favourites, expecially with Fliger747s revised FDE, which makes it a bit more difficult (realistic) to fly.

Cheers,
Mark

Wow, breath-taking scenery!
You did the mesh by hand... like hand-drawing a heightmap? wow.

Vora, I sculptured the landscape with a software called Daylon Leveller, and had a real hard time to get it to the geotiff format that is essential to resample it to the ESP format.
In a way this is like painting, but in three dimensions!

Cheers,
Mark
