Another case of NASCAR sticking their collective noses where they need not be. They do not need to regulate every part on the car. Leave some room for inovation by the teams like it used to be. This is one of the main reasons Jr Johnson quit.
hmmm i wonder what the oil pan on a FR-9 weighs?
sure is an easy way to lower the cog..

Yep, and I watched one IROC race, boring as hell. The pans that were removed were not illegal, just weighed more than other team's pans. Moving weight around is a good way to improve the handling and performance of a car. Ford's FR9 engines have a unique cylinder cooling jacket system and more weight in the bottom of the engine block than other makes engines, will NASCAR confiscate all the FR9 engines as well? And each time that they do, NASCAR looks more and more like IROC....:mixedsmi:
Of course, with NASCAR going green and making new rules (some of them seem to be made up on the fly), maybe they should issue each team a Chevy Volt and a battery charger.
