JU-87

SOH-CM-2016
Has anyone looked over this re-release. The model is nice with a lot of animations including the crew, bomb drop, and siren spinner. But the contact points are wrong. I corrected them, if anyone wants them just say so.

FS2004/FSX Junkers Ju-87 Stuka. A remake of a previously uploaded Stuka (by Italo D'Attomo). This is now a new full package (aircraft and panel). The Stuka (Sturzkampfflugzeug) was a two-seat, pilot and rear gunner, German ground-attack aircraft with inverted gull wings. The Stuka was used during the Blitzkrieg and with its fame behind was exported to Bulgaria, Hungary, Rumania and (159 airplanes) in Italy, where it was dubbed "Picchiatello", a pun meaning at the same time "diver" and "knocked in his head". It served from Norway (sometimes with skis instead of wheels) to Libya (hot weather version B-2/Trop). This model features highly reflective metallic skin and full animations. Three textures are provided, one Italian and two German. The panel is the same made by Italo D'Attomo with a few minor changes. Included also is a virtual cockpit, with working essential flight instruments and animated flight controls, plus camera views (FSX only). By Capt. G. Quai.

Stuart - I haven't yet tried this new one, but if you want a decent stuka for FS9 you could do a lot worse than this:

FS2004 Regia Aeronautica Junkers Ju 87B Stuka. The Regia Aeronautica (Royal Italian Air Force) received from Luftwaffe many Ju 87B-2 (and R-2) starting in July 1940 and the 96th, 97th and 101st Grp.Aut.N.aT. were the first units equipped with them. Complete aircraft. The model, originally created for CFS2 by Wolfang 'Wolfi' Faber with Abacus FSDS v3, features the usual moving parts, such as all flight controls, spinning wheels and so on. Liveries for three different aircraft: the first, belonged to 209th Squadriglia of the 97th Grp., was based, during August 1941, on Derna's airport (Lybia); the second one belonged to 208th Squadriglia of 101st Grp., based in Sicily during Spring 1941; the third one belonged to 239th Squadriglia of 97th Grp., based on Lecce's airport during Winter 1940/41. FS2004 conversion and textures by Manuele Villa.

There are also a number of repaints available for it, including some very nice ones from Morton.

The Villa one is the better of the two imho.

Having now compared the two, I would definitely agree. IMHO it even beats Alphasim's (somewhat dated) stuka. The only thing really lacking in Manuele's stuka is a bit of top end speed in level flight. Anyone know of any tweaks ?

Manuels Stuka is not bad at all. Somewhere here there is a topic as I was very interested in one myself. I will see if I can find it.

I am not sure this will work.
.......Try this link http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/search.php?searchid=110574

If not, look in the upper right of

Look for "Search this forum". Type "Stuka".. and click the magnifying glass next to it. There are other topics that will pop up that are related to tweaks and updates that will show up also that are related.

Cheers OB - a few interesting things on that.

Also:

"The only thing really lacking in Manuele's stuka is a bit of top end speed in level flight" -

I've found that 'borrowing' the airfile from the new stuka and dropping it into Manuele's/Wolfi's makes a bit of difference. Works well.

Is it me or is the Swizztika on the Capt. G. Quai Ju miles too big. I don't recall ever seeing a tail one quite so large on any LW a/c.

NO Naismith it's not you

One of the first things I noticed about the Capt.G Stuka was the swastika is way too big.I don't think the eariler version was that big,if it even had one ,but off hand I don't remember.
I tried Manuele's Stuka but for some reason it shows in the root tree(after I renamed it) but not in the sim,so I deleted it.I even tried replaceing the sound file with one that has all the wave files ,cause I've had planes not show before and the advice here was to do that and it worked ,but not this time.
Oh well I kept the older version of Capt.Stuka so now I have lots of Stukas.

I have nothing against the new Stuka being offered. It takes alot more patience than I have to design and model an aircraft for FS. That being said, I do agree that Wolfi's Ju-87 is much better, with the Manuele Villa mods, Morton's repaints and Lawdawg's sounset ...
