Ju88A4 - Long Range loadout

I've got an historical question regarding the long range loadout for the Ju88A4.

I've downloaded both Ju88's packs at Beau's site and there is a difference between the:
-> KG30's pack (1 X 900 liter droptank + 10 X 70kg Bombs)
and both
-> KG77 / Aufkl 120 (1 X 900 liter droptank + 10 X 70kg Bombs or 2 X 900 liter droptank + 10 X 70kg Bombs)

What is the reason of this difference? Does this mean that KG30 aircrafts were never fittied with both drop tanks because their mission didn't required it (not as long range as KG77 and Aufkl 120 missions)?

Not really particular to the A4, but any of the 14 (or so) variants of the Ju88s, as long as they were fitted with the external wing pylons.

More than likely, for each variant, and/or the units they were assigned to, that might limit which type external loads they might carry.

I've seen photos that have a different load on each pylon, so it would depend on what job they were doing. If the pylon could carry it, it was possible, and the variations were unlimited. The heavier load went to the inner pylon.

If I remember right, only the gunpods had to use both pylons to mount up.

So...any combo you want could be written into the xdp.

Loadouts

When I made the xdp's I wanted to have several different examples to show the combinations Ted is speaking about. I believe that I saw a picture of each variant and decided to model the different mission types.

I think it is cool to see all the different ways the 88 was used. The Ju88 was one if of the most versatile planes of the war and fulfilled each role well.

The D model is long range and was released for cfs 2 recently. that;s only variant I know of for the long range recon role.
