Just Might Go-(ETO)

Well I gotta say,you Gents certainly have me all curious as to all the fuss
over ETO, though I've been trying to stay content with the standard game.

Been somewhat anxious about adding on anything else after my last
computer-crash,so I keep telling myself if I keep things simple,I wont have
those hair-pulling complications, but Im also all about improving and
expanding this wonderful and entertaining hobby!

Wanted to make sure I understood something off Pats notes before
installing ETO. So it does have to be CLEAN-STOCK CFS3 with no addons,
and also with the patches correct? (Including pylons, weapons, sounds, etc.)

Would love to catch up with the rest of you Gents so I can jump in
there with all online, but thought I'd make sure of the install process
before I jump the gun. <<S>>

:kilroy:Wyld45, that is absolutely correct. You need a clean, fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a) CFS3 install. No mods at all is best.

You don't have to dump your modded install, either. Go here: http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/ and get the MuliCFS3.exe. That way you can have multiple installs of CFS3. When there, simply follow this path: CFS3/Utilities/Multi Install. Download MultiCFS3 by clicking on the yellow dot. Unzip it, install it into your stock CFS3 install, and run it. It allow you to re-name your install in the Application Data/Microsoft and My Documents folders. After you have done this, re-name your old Combat Flight Simulator 3 main game folder manually. Delete the old CFS3 desktop start icon, go back into your newly-renamed main game folder and right-click on the CFS3.exe and send it to desktop as a shortcut.

Now, all you have to do is to re-install CFS3 normally, put in the two updates, and you're now ready to install ETO, or any other of the other add-on stand-alone games (MAW, PTO, etc). Keep this as your vanilla for that reason.:d
