Just Noticed!!

That after my donation to the bandwidth drive 2010, I have lost my medal. I have got so used to it, now that it's gone it feels like being demoted, relegated to the penal battalion, cast out and forgotten, busted to private, and worst still, it feels like my wings have been clipped...:icon_lol:

Nigel, that is really bad news. I was grounded once many years back when as a student pilot, I played a game of Rugby, went into a tackle and could not get back up again with a busted knee. Operation followed and was out of action for four months. Not flying for real did take a toll on me so I do know a bit of how you feel.

Good thing now days as we grow older, we only have to walk as far as our own private office, to fire up the desk.

I hope the situation improves for you pretty soon.

Markus, I have a feeling the "Top-Brass" will be giving us a new smart looking "Gong" to replace the one we admired so much for the best part of a year. So don't worry we will soon be "Ranking Officers" once again...:engel016:
 
The medals are left over from a plug-in used in an earlier version of the forum software and for some reason after the last big crash some of the medal-bearers kept them and some lost em even though that wasn't active anymore.

When you donated this year, you upgraded to the Charter Member 2010 group. Unfortunately, no medals come with the title. :(

I don't know if there is a forum plug-in to allow those neat little doo-dads on this version of the forum software yet.

Hey Mike, thanks for making it clearer. Don't worry about the medal, I know my mustard, I am not really upset.

I mean it, I am not upset, or have any hard feelings. I will just remember the good old days.

the medals were a hack 3 versions ago in the forum (3.5.1, we now have 3.8.4) software and when we had the big crash this summer it wiped it out and who ever had them at that time kept them but due to the new user group Charter member 2010 they could not be revived.
Next month I am updating to an even newer version 4.0 and they will be lost than anyway.

Thats all clear then Ickie, thanks. What is really more important to me is the respect that all our member hold for each other. The Medals are a great way to show achievement, but the respect one holds for his fellow team mates is something money can't buy.
