JustFlight dc-8 50 - 70 in P3 V3.1

Hi
Recently purchased JustFlight DC-8 50 -70 for Prepar3D v3. Mostly good but so far 2 of the generator switches do not move and none of the start switches - in any of the 50 - 70 variables. I am told that I need to move a sim connect ..dll file from the "redist" folder to the modules folder of Prepar3d but I can't find such a .dll . I believe this DC-8 is a fairly old payware add-on although it's said to be compatible with Prepar3D V3. I hoping someone else may have observed this problem and found a solution. I do have the 3.1 update added to Prepar3d
Thanks
Warren

I don't know the real origin of your problem with these switches, but if they told you that simconnect was needed, then you simply need to execute the corresponding install program.
To do so, you need to go into that "redist" folder, then find the folder which contains the simconnect for FSX Acceleration. The titles of the folders are quite explicit, if I remember correctly.
Anyways, in that folder, there is an executable file. Launch it and it will install the corresponding SimConnect version.
From there, you can try to relaunch the sim and check if your switches move.

Hi
Thanks for the response. JustFlight only made reference to taking "the simconnect.dll" and moving it to the Modules or root folder of Prepar3D. I could not find such a file as titled. I did find one executable file which I ran as well as a similarly but different titled .dll which I placed in the modules folder - however none of this has made any difference to the switch problem. I haven't heard any additional info from JustFlight so I expect they busy, probably dealing with guys like me.
Take care.
