Kahne to Hendrick

Hey All,

As a long time fan of Kasey (yes I like Jimmy better!) No complaints from me other than why not 2011?

it has ocurred to me (this is somewhat conspiratorial) that sighning Kahne now for 2012 and not really having a car for 2011 may put some pressure on the 88 to get thier act together right now..

Earnhardt is 10 in points...certainly not a total failure by any stretch of the imagination...however having to look over his shoulder and wondering if Kahne might be driving the 88 next year could be a little motivation to do better...but i could be wrong.

i watched a special on Directv about Hendrick and it was very revealing about his relationships with all this past and present drivers...turns out that Dale Jr. was big buddies with his son that died in the plane crash.

Hey All,

Hendrick will have two Californians and a Washingtonian and of course the token Southerner on their team in 2012 as I think Jr will still be there unless he feels he doesn't deserve to be in a Hendrick car. If he leaves early I think it'll be his choice. I don't think Rick Hendrick would quit on Jr very easily. Some loyalties run deep and I think Jr is still the top selling driver in NASCAR. If Jr wanted he could probably be a part owner in the 88 if he isn't already.

Who's Hendrick going to get to replace Earnhardt Jr. in 2012 :ques: :monkies:

Haven't been happy with the way Jr has run lately, but he's doing better for now. If you're going to judge him by the streak he has going without a win, then there are some other drivers you better judge the same way, including Montoya, who hasn't won in 99 races,LOL Here's a recent list of losing streaks going on at the moment, man, look at Harvick!! Maybe you should check on whether he is qualified to be thought as a #1 driver?

Active Winless streaks: Many drivers [with a logical chance of winning a race] are coming to Fort Worth this weekend in the throes of some very serious winless streaks. One year ago, Jeff Gordon was being choked by a 48-race drought [his current streak is 36 races since he won], the longest of his career. On Saturday night, Newman ended a run of 0-for-77. The active driver who has made the most starts and not won a race is #55-Dave Blaney, who is 0-for-339 and counting. Longest winless Cup streaks:
Driver, Winless Streak, Last Win
Kevin Harvick, 114, Daytona, 2/18/2007
Martin Truex Jr. 102, Dover, 6/4/2007
Juan Pablo Montoya, 99, Sonoma, 6/24/2007
Clint Bowyer, 69, Richmond, 5/3/2008
Dale Earnhardt Jr., 64, Michigan, 6/15/2008
Greg Biffle, 51, Dover, 9/21/2008
Jeff Burton, 48, Charlotte, 10/11/2008
Carl Edwards, 43, Homestead, 11/16/2008
Matt Kenseth, 41, Fontana, 2/22/2009

Talk about a bunch of drivers with lousy attitudes, meybe they should all be replaced!!

eddie,
Don't get me wrong, I LIKE Junior, however.....

1) Folks said Tony Eury Jr was holding him back - well, now Tony Eury Jr. is gone....
2) Dale Jr. is now on arguably the best team in NASCAR.....

Now for Montoya, he's definitely performed above the calibur of that team ;)

Hey All,

Notice how 3 cars are Childress Chevys and 3 are Roush Fords! Cleary suggests the whole organizations are in a slump not just the drivers. I'm bettin Childress bounces back before Roush.

LoL well,
Most of that 21st has to do with bad luck.....;)

But like I said, I do like Junior :) - but the bottom line is that Junior is arguably in the best situation of his career at Hendrick Motorsports..

That being said, if Evernham had never left, who knows where Jeff Gordon would be now...

I'm on the fence here since I like both Bowyer & Edwards :d

I should ALSO add that if Junior ever wins on a track like Martinsville or Richmond, the fans will go crazy! :wiggle:
